Landlord Accreditation

The ULHS strongly supports landlord accreditation which sets out to reward and provide incentives for landlords who manage properties to a good standard, and who demonstrate respect and responsibility towards their tenants.

Apart from the recognition of being a 'good' landlord, responsible tenants are more likely to want to rent properties from landlords who can demonstrate good practice.

Landlords who successfully complete the London Landlord Accreditation Scheme training are more likely to be entitled to grants that are available for landlords subject to funding.

Accredited landlords will be able to get discounts from builders merchants, insurance companies, fire safety equipment and have access to specialist training and will be consulted regularly on policy changes.

In terms of the ULHS housing database, accredited landlords will be given a more prominent position in listings for students and their accommodation offers will denote their accredited status.
