All landlords that register with the University of London Housing Services (ULHS) must agree to abide by the Code of Good Practice. The Code's aim is to ensure that disputes between Landlords and Tenants are minimised and compliance with it offers benefits for both parties. It incorporates Landlords' legal obligations as well as clauses which encourage good practice and management from Landlords.
Students prioritise ULHS registered Landlords because of their compliance with our code of Good Practice. They take further confidence from the fact that we will always investigate if we get a report from a student that one of our Landlords is in breach of the Code. Non-compliance with the code can lead to a Landlord's suspension from our Registration scheme.
