- Host Families
Many of the landlords registered with the PHU will offer accommodation within their own homes. However, it is unusual for our landlords to offer their lodgers meals or expect them to live as part of the family. For students looking for this kind of accommodation it would be useful for them to use, in addition to our lists, a specialist agency dealing primarily with host family accommodation. Although we have many larger student developments advertising on our database, we do not have a comprehensive directory of all of them.There are several websites that do. They are listed here. - Private Halls of Residence
We now have a listing of private halls of residence on our website. - Short stay housing
Although we have some options on our database for stays of of less than 3 months, we do not have anything for a stay of a couple of weeks or even a few days. Details of short stay housing can be found here. - Homeshare
is a charity that provides an exchange service where individuals who are looking for a valuable experience and affordable accommodation are matched with an elderly person who is looking for a hand around the house for 10 hrs a week. This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking for a quieter style of life, while living in a homely environment with shared use of the home’s facilities.
