The Property Management Unit
The Property Management Unit (PMU) of the University of London Housing Services manages accommodation for both student and visiting academics. The PMU provides centrally managed self-catering flats and houses for around 270 full-time students. We also manage a small number of flats for visiting senior academics who are officially invited to the University to study, teach or work at one of its Colleges or Institutes on a temporary basis.
Housing for students
The Property Management Unit (PMU) offers a selection of self-catering houses and flats, of various size ranging from one to seven bedroom properties, specifically for use as student accommodation. The PMU properties are made up of University of London owned, long leased and head-leased accommodation. Head-leased properties are leased from private landlords, and then in turn let to students. This gives the student greater confidence as their landlord is the University. To live in one of our properties, you must be a full-time University of London degree student. Unfortunately, students classed as 'writing up' for their PhD will not qualify. We also do not offer housing to 1st year undergraduates. If you are unsure of whether you are eligible, please contact us on the number below. There are no waiting lists for our accommodation. When available, the accommodation is advertised directly on the Private Housing Unit lists and website. Linen, cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils are not provided. All vacancies will be filled on a first come, first served basis, which gives everyone an equal chance to take up residence in any of our properties.
