Positive:"NEW CROSS: New Cross is cheap if not cheerful and offers student nights, limitless take-aways and easy access to central London (20mins). It is also a walk away from the lovely Greenwich ( see SE10)- retro clothing, cheap books, a gorgeous park and bargains to be found on market days!"

"NEW CROSS:Great student life, extremely convenient transport opportunities(2 tube st., busses, trains)and great food shopping.Lots of student discount in shops and restaurants. Greenwich Park 10 mins away by bus. "

Negative: "NEW CROSS:A bit rough and shabby-looking in some areas. Be street-wise, don't walk alone a night(just like anywhere else!) Noisy main road (New Cross Road)"

"NEW CROSS:Pretty rough area .... Bit scruffy but on the up since the roadworks have moved from the brige. New Cross Gate is basically one main road-everything is on it.No high street stores or shopping centres-nearest is Peckham (10mins bus)"
